My Superbowl Article

Happy Superbowl Sunday

Would you like to know what is depressing? Being a fan of the worst team in the league: the Tennessee Titans. A team that has been historically sad no matter where they have been located. From “One Yard Short”, “35-3”, and being noted as the “worst first seed in NFL history”. There are just plenty of sad things about the franchise I grew up with.

When I was a little kid growing up in Tennessee, I had a huge admiration for astronomy. Especially the comet. Comets were everywhere on astronomy headlines in the early 2010s. Something I just somehow remember. I became a Titans fan because of…not just the fact I lived in Tennessee…but I thought the logo was a comet, even Google AI states it as reminiscent of a comet. Fans joke that its nickname is really just the “Flaming Thumbtack”. A shield with flames and the Tennessee Tri Star.

When I became a Titans fan, They were the worst team in the league. Consistently going from picks one and two…and everything just seemed to go full circle. Because ironically enough they are quite literally the worst team in the league again. All the Titans have ever chased is mediocrity at absolute best. Except for a fluke era with Ryan Tannehill being carried by an abnormally elite OL compared to the standard, AJ Brown the most toxic deva WR, and a RB I dare not mention because deep down he should be a disgrace and not loved. Hes currently on the “Ratbirds”. All that accomplished was a miracle AFC Championship Appearance after ending the old dynasty and kickstarting the new one. Also beating the Ratbirds. As well as that “worst first seed in NFL history” Note how I say era…because I’m pretty sure we were Taylor Swift’s team before Travis Kelce came along. (or the Eagles) Well actually the Titans are so sad that I probably just pulled that out of my ass. Either way though…she definitely roots for the other Nashville teams. Especially with her home being in Nashville. Also with her being in a Nashville Predators commercial in 2008.

The most ironic thing. I may have grown up in Tennessee, however I was born in Kansas City. The Kansas side to be specific. Born in the 913 and raised in the 931. Funny how that works. The more time goes by the more I realize I chose the worst team instead of the best. But you gotta stay loyal. Titan Up forever sadly. When I did live in Kansas, the Chiefs dynasty just started up. But I was only there for the first two rings. I never went to the parades. I never repped them at all. I remember perhaps being a nuisance for the AFC Championship that Tennessee played in Kansas City during my freshman year of high school. Its unfortunate that while the Kansas City Chiefs are chasing the New England Patriots for the greatest franchise of all time. The Tennessee Titans are chasing the Arizona Cardinals for being the worst franchise of all time.

So with this repeat 2023 Super Bowl in mind. I would rather root for the Kansas City Chiefs. Because well…I can’t forget I was born there. I can’t forget that Eagles fans are even worse than Chiefs fans. Also…they are going to win anyway because they have the refs on their side. Also and most importantly: Deandre Hopkins deserves a ring. Especially since the Titans are so bad that he nearly lost the love of football. Also I would rather see a “fivepeat” then see AJ Brown with a ring. Keep the Swifties happy because there’s already enough drama with Donald Trump being at this game too.
